Well, we here at hepTRAX & Koinonoros (the SGC) are dedicated to illuminating the gloom. To being an oasis in & from the dystopia of today & negativity in general.
Trying to completely, wholesale, turn things around species-wide is a very tall order, but connecting & unifying the classy folks who reject the mess is definitely a (relatively) easy doable. Ensuring that, for as much as the word “community” is used & abused these days, that this is an actual one worthy of said word. A community that brings together all sorts of walks of life, cultures, politics, views, etc (so long as fitting within a basic framework of “civilized”) into somewhere that demonstrates that yes—there are indeed grown folks who actually paid heed to what Fred Rogers taught us.

An important part of a healthy community is good communications & media hygiene, and we definitely aim to have such here, across all our outlets/”channels”: blogs, podcasts, live broadcasts, hangouts, & more that are the perfect combo of everything one engages with media for: entertainment, information, connection, relaxation, edification, & so on.
It’ll definitely be a “variety show” kinda thing here. Expect topics to range from video games to BMX, horticulture to astronomy, fashion to civics, & beyond.
Speaking of civics: through a “potluck” media model, we aim to become the premier source for genuine, no-bull, sane news & views that foment healthy conversations & civic action, rather’n mess—whether that mess originates from the loony far-left, the ridiculous far-right, or anywhere else wacked out. We aim to be such a source both in our original content, as well as thru an innovative model of bringing together a wide variety of sources topic-by-topic, depending on what they’re rational at.
For example, maybe Source A is wacked out on urbanism & video gaming, but they’re one of the only big outlets honestly covering the scourge of white supremacism, jihadism, & antisocial (sociopathic) hoodrattery in our country these days, so we use A for the latter. Source B is great on urbanism & video gaming, but is straight-up in denial about white supremacism, jihadism, & hoodrattery… so we use Source B for the former.
Like when one goes to a cafeteria, we are in the business of picking the best from each “zone” & bringing it together into a portal for the empowerment of classy citizens. Which, frankly, is also the way we do our culture overall here in the SGC.
When you’re fighting for life from the rock bottom of a society that’s decided it’s a giant, shallow, unending high school—as y’all’s humble author, mesyn, is indeed doing—it gives you the best perspective to see what’s broken. What needs fixing. What needs to be risen above. What the liberation of the marginalized looks like, what deception is out & about, & what we all need to live more fulfilling lives (regardless of social/economic standing).
